Three Detroit Lakes errors led to three unearned runs as the Panthers won the opener 3-1.

In the nightcap, the Panthers belted out 11 hits and stole nine bases to complete the sweep with an 11-6 victory.

A two-out error, singles by Tyler McCollum and Connor Byer, and another error gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the second in the opener.

Rilee Johnson doubled and scored on an error as the Panthers led 3-0 in the third.

Johnson went 2 for 3 to lead the Panthers’ five-hit attack. McCollum allowed one run on six hits with six strikeouts over five innings for the win while Derek Porozinski pitched two scoreless innings for the save.

In the second game, the Panthers claimed a 3-0 lead in the second as McCollum’s two-run single capped the inning.

After the Lakers scored six times in the third to take a 6-3 lead, Park Rapids responded by scoring four times in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. RBI singles by Drew Bade, Porozinski and McCollum were the key hits.

Jordan McCollum singled and scored on Bade’s RBI single in the fourth while Brad Eischens’ RBI single made it 9-6 in the fifth. Jon Burlingame’s RBI double and Eischens’ sacrifice fly concluded the scoring in the sixth.

Bade went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBI, Porozinski went 2 for 2 with four runs, Burlingame went 2 for 3 with two runs, and Tyler McCollum went 2 for 2 with three RBI to lead the Panthers’ 11-hit attack. Jordan McCollum picked up the win in relief.
