Panthers skate past Blue Devils
A three-goal third period led the Park Rapids-Menahga-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team to a 6-3 win over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek at Wadena Tuesday night.
Hannah Williams scored the game-winning goal at the start of the third period before McKenna Brand sealed the win with two goals. Williams and Leeza Tostenson scored in the first period and Jessica Gapinski had a goal in the second period. Goalie Bailey Moore made 19 saves as the Panthers improved to 5-9-2 on the season.

Detroit Lakes won seven straight matches to spark a 38-27 win over the Park Rapids wrestling team at the Century School gym. Ben Baumgartner, Laine Jensen, Danny PIke, Jared Nash, Brandon Ritter and Kenny Weaver won matches for the Panthers in this Mid-State Conference match.
Zane Gothberg made 32 saves in leading Thief River Falls to a 5-1 win over the Park Rapids-Menahga boys hockey team at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena. Sam Coborn scored Park Rapids' lone goal in this Section 8A battle.
Twelve different players scored in leading Pequot Lakes to a 72-35 Mid-State Conference boys basketball victory over Park Rapids. Paul Dirks scored 11 points to lead the Panthers.
Lacey Stennes scored 18 points in leading Thief River Falls to a 50-42 win over the Park Rapids girls basketball team at Thief River Falls. Hannah Wolff and Hailey Lundin scored 10 points each for the Panthers.
Melrose/Sauk Centre defeated the Park Rapids boys swimming team 96-65 in a dual meet. Sam Goebel won the 50-yard freestyle to account for the Panthers' only winning time.
Perham backed up its No. 1 ranking in the state with a 151.55 to 108.50 win over the Park Rapids gymnastics team in a Mid-State Conference meet at Perham.
