Taking first in the first seven events Thursday night kept the Park Rapids girls swimming and diving team undefeated in dual meets.

The Panthers added two more winning efforts before swimming exhibition in the final two events en route to a 103-77 Mid-State Conference victory over Perham/New York Mills at the Area High School pool.

Taylor Ondracek, Mandy Schirmers, Kyja Penning and Katherine Erickson opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay in 2:00.70.

Emily Creager (2:11.71) and Leah Meinert (2:15.09) followed with a 1-2 finish in the 200 freestyle before Schirmers won the 200 individual medley in 2:29.67.

A 1-2-3 sweep by Allycia Zinke (27.95), Hannah Williams (28.39) and Lauren Rossman (28.49) in the 50 freestyle gave the Panthers a 42-20 lead.

Penning took first in the next two events by compiling 183.60 points in diving and clocking a 1:03.13 in the 100 butterfly.

Creager (59.57) and Zinke (1:01.15) then went 1-2 in the 100 freestyle as the Panthers built a 76-33 advantage.

Zinke, Penning, Meinert and Creager clocked a 1:49.86 to win the 200 freestyle relay before Erickson (1:05.78) and Ondracek (1:07.22) went 1-2 in the 100 backstroke to push the lead to 103-52.

Park Rapids swam exhibition in the final two events.

In the junior varsity meet, the Panthers won the final event to post a 78-74 victory. Emily Eystad, Alex Pederson, Jessica Andersen and Jessie O'Hern won the 200 medley relay in 2:33.89 and the 400 freestyle relay team of Taylor Graham, Andersen, Seri Erickson and Ellen Hoffman took first in 4:48.70 to spark the win. Also adding winning efforts were Rossman in diving (65.75 points), Eystad in the 100 butterfly (1:36.83) and Hoffman in the 100 backstroke (1:19.21).

"We swam well," said Park Rapids head coach Todd Fritze, whose team carried a 5-0 record in dual meets into its home finale against Bemidji Tuesday night.

Park Rapids travels to Staples-Motley for another conference meet Thursday night.
