Bailey Moore's 14 saves and McKenna Brand's hat trick Tuesday night helped the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley girls hockey team shut out Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek for the second time this season.

The Panthers, who blanked LPGE/WDC 10-0 earlier this season, scored two power-play goals and two shorthanded goals en route to an 8-0 victory at the Ted O. Johnson Ice Arena. Six different players scored goals and nine different players had assists for the Panthers, who held a 34-14 advantage in shots on goal in improving to 6-10.

Brand opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at the 4:25 mark of the first period. Heather Brostrom assisted on that goal. Williams followed with a power-play goal at the 7:06 mark with assists from Brand and Jessica Gapinski.

A five-goal second period put the game out of reach. Gapinski set up Brand at the 1:10 mark before Brand returned the favor on Gapinski's power-play goal at the 3:53 mark. Williams also assisted on that goal. Mady Vaudrin scored less than a minute later to give the Panthers a 5-0 lead. Allie Bade and Hannah Gorder assisted on that goal. Brand completed her hat trick at the 8:45 mark on assists from Bade and Brostrom. It was Brand's sixth hat trick of the season. Makenna Persing and Taylor Pachel set up a goal by Christina Smith at the 15:27 mark to give Park Rapids a 7-0 cushion.

The Panthers ended the scoring on Alex Pederson's goal at the 15:42 mark of the third period. Julia Renner and Pachel assisted on that goal. Park Rapids held a 13-2 edge in shots in the final period.

The loss dropped the Blue Devils to 1-14 on the season.
