Frank Moren finished third on the Park Rapids-Menahga-Nevis-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley boys hockey team in scoring with 28 points and earned Mid-State Conference and Northwest Conference honors.

Panthers receive all-conference honors

  Park Rapids’ Ian Johnson, Frank Moren and Noah MacPherson capped off the boys hockey season by earning Mid-State Conference and Northwest Conference honors.

     Those three led the Panthers to the Mid-State Conference title with a 7-1 record and to the Northwest Conference title with a 6-1-1 record. Cody Brumbaugh also earned Mid-State Conference honors.

     MacPherson, a junior center, scored 11 goals and had 10 assists for 21 points in eight Mid-State Conference games and had six goals and five assists for 11 points in eight Northwest Conference games.

     Johnson, a senior forward, scored five goals and had seven assists in eight Mid-State Conference games and six goals and nine assists for 15 points in eight Northwest Conference games.

     Moren, a senior forward, scored seven goals and had six assists for 13 points in the eight Mid-State games and had five goals and one assist in the eight Northwest Conference games.

     Brumbaugh, a junior goalie, started all eight Mid-State Conference games in the nets and went 7-1 with two shutouts. Brumbaugh allowed 12 goals and made 204 saves.
