Panthers hit 11 3-pointers in victory over Pequot Lakes

     Wyatt Derman and Jordan McCollum combined to hit 10 3-pointers in leading the Park Rapids boys basketball team to a 69-60 Mid State Conference win at Pequot Lakes Tuesday night.

     Derman made three 3-pointers, Rilee Johnson had four field goals and McCollum hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Panthers led 38-28 at the half.

     Three more 3-pointers by Derman, two 3-pointers by McCollum and three inside baskets by Zach Jewison in the second half helped the Panthers preserve the lead.

     Derman scored a career-high 22 points while McCollum added 16 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Jewison had a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds while Johnson also hit double figures with 12 points as the Panthers improved to 2-1 in the conference and 5-3 overall.

     Brett Peterson led a balanced attack with 14 points for the Patriots, who fell to 1-2 in the conference and 3-2 overall despite making nine 3-pointers.
