Ian Johnson's 87 led the Park Rapids boys golf team to eighth place at Wednesday's Crosby-Ironton/Pequot Lakes Invitational at Deacon's Lodge.

Dustin Bethel's 89, Ed Carlson's 90 and Jeff Jacobson's 94 rounded out the Panthers' 360 team score.

Frank Moren's 89, Ty Meech's 93, Lane Hillukka's 96 and Noah Hendrickson's 97 led United North Central to 10th place with a 374. Nevis finished 11th with a 380 behind Kyle Magnuson's 86, Daniel Stacey's 96, Matt Halik's 98 and AJ Pappas' 100.

Staples-Motley's Nick Forsberg earned medalist honors with a 73 while Moorhead claimed the team title with a 303.

Cardinals extend lead

Wednesday's meet at Deacon's Lodge also served as the third Mid-Minnesota Conference meet.

Staples-Motley expanded its lead by carding a 387 and earning 50 points for 162.50 total points after three meets. The Panthers earned 23.5 points and have 75.50 total points for fourth place. United North Central earned 20.50 points for 61 points after three meets while Nevis tallied 16.50 points to raise its overall total to 52.50 points.

Bethel tied for second at the No. 3 player spot with an 89 and Jacobson finished third at the No. 5 player spot with a 94 to lead the Panthers.

Moren shot an 89 to share second place at the No. 3 spot for UNC while Magnuson carded an 86 for fourth place at the No. 1 position to lead Nevis.

Tigers host Mid-Minn meet

Nevis hosted the second Mid-Minnesota Conference meet at Bears Den on May 5.

Zach Israelson shot a 72 to lead Staples-Motley to the team title with a 392 and 55 points.

The Panthers earned 25 points as Johnson's 78, Ed Carlson's 84, Bethel's 84, Nate Carlson's 93 and C.J. Hess' 95 led to a 438.

UNC used Tyler Meech's 82, Lane Hillukka's 84, a pair of 90s by Alex Schoon and Frank Moren, and a 91 by Brad Johnson for a 437 and 22 points. Nevis earned 17.50 points as Matt Halik's 97, Kyle Magnuson's 88, a pair of 90s by Aaron Halik and Daniel Stacey, and a 92 by AJ Pappas led to a 447 team score.
