Panthers fall to Crookston in dual finale

Ryan Kent and Alex Renner didn't drop a game at No. 1 singles to account for the only win for the Park Rapids boys tennis team against Crookston Thursday.

Kyle Dickinson and James Kujawa lost a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles in the Panthers' 6-1 loss.

Crookston dropped only two games in sweeping the four singles matches and won the No. 2 doubles match in straight set for the win.

The Panthers ended the regular season with a 5-7 record in dual meets.

No. 1 singles: Jake Thompson, C, over Scott Smith 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 singles: Wade Johnston, C, over Max Brown 6-1, 6-0.

No. 3 singles: Carter Denison, C, over Taylor Kimball 6-0, 6-1.

No. 4 singles: Nick Biermaier, C, over Bob Swanstrom 6-0, 6-0.

No. 1 doubles: Ryan Kent/Alex Renner, PR, over Noah Fagerlund/Khris Johnson 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 doubles: Alex Prudhomme/Luke Normandin, PR, over Ted Tiffany/ Steve Smith 6-3, 6-4.

No. 3 doubles: Jared Johnson/Ethan Mercil, C, over Kyle Dickinson/James Kujawa 6-4, 4-6, 7-3.
