Panthers drop pair of dual meets to Crookston, EGF

  Crookston and East Grand Forks defeated the Park Rapids boys tennis team in a pair of dual meets involving Section 8A rivals.

     Crookston blanked the Panthers 7-0 Tuesday at Crookston in a match that was originally scheduled for the Depot Courts. The Pirates won all seven matches in straight sets.

     Crookston improved to 2-1 against Section 8A opponents and 3-3 overall.

     Josh Johnson and Chris Shaw prevailed in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles to account for the Panthers’ lone win in a 6-1 loss to East Grand Forks at Grand Forks Wednesday. Jeff Dickinson lost a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles while Zach Tretbar and Tristan Hendrickson lost a close match at No. 3 doubles for the Panthers, who fell to 0-4 in dual meets this season.
