A balanced scoring attack led Detroit Lakes to an 81-35 Mid-State Conference boys basketball victory at Park Rapids Tuesday night.

Josh Stalberger (13) and Rick Hutchinson (10) hit double figures as the Lakers built a 51-22 lead at the half. Chris Goplerud and Christian Ridlon combined for 12 points for the Panthers.

Nine different players scored for Detroit Lakes in the second half. Goplerud hit a pair of jumpers, including a 3-pointer, and Ridlon scored twice inside to lead the Panthers.

Ridlon finished with 12 points and six rebounds while Goplerud added 11 points and four rebounds as the Panthers fell to 0-9 in the conference and 1-15 overall.

Stalberger (15), Brian Labat (12), Jon Gilson (11) and Hutchinson (10) scored in double figures for the Lakers, who improved to 7-1 in conference play and 14-5 overall.

Patriots run past Panthers

Pequot Lakes also posted a conference win over the Panthers with a 94-24 victory last Friday night.

Kurtis Moody (12), Tomas Parker (12), Steve Duval (12) and Brian Craig (11) all scored in double figures for the Patriots, who improved to 8-1 in the conference and 14-4 overall. Pequot Lakes is ranked No. 5 in this week's state Class AA poll.

Kyle Goplerud had 10 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Panthers.
