Otter Tail drug sting yields 19 arrests
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. - In a joint venture with the West Central Minnesota Drug Task Force and the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, the Fergus Falls Police Department arrested 19 people this week in connection with narcotics distribution.
Authorities say the drug raid broke up several operations in Otter Tail County. Much of the investigation stems from months of undercover work. Undercover officers bought a variety of drugs, including crack cocaine, ecstasy and methamphetamine.
The individuals arrested range from age 17 to their mid-50s.
"This starts to be the busy part of the year in our community, and we wanted to send a message that we are not going to tolerate that kind of activity," said Fergus Falls Police Chief Kile Bergren.
Law enforcement officials say more arrests are expected this week. Police say at least three different drug rings were broken up in Fergus Falls alone.
