One transported following crash at Akeley intersection

By Sarah Smith / EnterpriseOne transported after Akeley crash: Two vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon at the intersections of Highways 34 and 64 in downtown Akeley. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Dodge truck driven by Danny T. Cornell, 61, Blackduck, made a left turn on Highway 34 in front of an oncoming car, this Chrysler. The truck was pulling a loaded cattle trailer at the time. The driver of the Chrysler, Kimberly A. Ball, 38, Nevis, was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Area Health Services in Park Rapids, where she was treated and released for minor injuries. Ball’s car hit Cornell’s truck on the passenger side, according to the Patrol, and “rolled back” to the trailer as he turned. Cornell was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
