One lane of Highway 10 briefly closed after accident in Audubon involving two snowplows, a light pole and an electrical line
A westbound lane on Highway 10 in Audubon was closed briefly Saturday afternoon after an accident involving two snowplows, a light pole and an electrical line.
A Becker County maintenance truck hit the light pole with a plow wing while removing snow about 4 p.m.
The pole, fell, causing an overhead power line to hang over the highway, according to the State Patrol.
A MnDOT Highway maintenance truck, also removing snow, struck the suspended power line, causing the pole to fall onto westbound Highway 10. This resulted in one lane of Highway 10 being blocked for a short time.
There was no damage to the county unit, a 2012 International truck driven by Ardean M. Anderson, 53, of Detroit Lakes.
The MnDOT unit, a 2002 Sterling truck driven by Keith J. Kaldor, 61, of Audubon, received damage to a mirror. Neither man was injured.
The accident occurred on icy pavement at mile marker 37. The Becker County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
