One injured in two-vehicle crash Monday
A Menahga man was transported to the Park Rapids hospital Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle rollover accident south of town on Highway 71.
The victim was complaining of neck and back pain, but a Hubbard County Sheriff's deputy on the scene said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Manual Ramirez, 68, of Menahga, was speaking to paramedics on the scene as he sat on a gurney.
Fifteen-year-old Anthony P. Ramirez, a passenger in the overturned vehicle, appeared uninjured.
The driver of a GMC Sierra, who identified himself as Lewis Stenerson, 26, of Frazee, said he became momentarily distracted making a left turn onto 120th Street when he drifted across the center line and clipped the oncoming vehicle broadside, sending it spinning into the west side ditch. The southbound Ford EPR overturned upon impact.
Two children in Stenerson's vehicle were not injured, nor was Stenerson.
The Minnesota State Patrol was on the scene and traffic was being directed around the accident, which occurred just after 3 p.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
