Northstar Ensemble to perform at Noon Hour Concert on Thursday
Northstar Ensemble will be featured at the Noon Hour Concert on Thursday, June 26, 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. at Faithbridge Church in Park Rapids. Musical numbers include a Presto by Haydn, some “Water Music” by Handel and a Minuet in G by Bach, ala Lorie Line, and current music by the Beatles, (When I’m 64), a traditional waltz (The Westphalia Waltz) and a traditional folk tune, (The Water is Wide) arranged by Hal Hopson.
This group initially got together to play for an event at Madden’s Resort near Brainerd. Cheryl Hilgemann, on keyboard, recently moved from Woodbury, where she was a 30-year 3M employee and in high demand as a keyboardist. Donna Neumann on flute was a Special Education teacher in Illinois, and now is much sought after by local schools as a substitute, and has played for many events and in many groups in the Park Rapids area. Walt, a retired art teacher, and Anita Hanneman, retired from the USDA and a former Business Education teacher, playing guitar and violin/mandolin respectfully, have been performing together and in various groups as those opportunities arose right here in Northern Minnesota.
The audience is invited to bring lunch to eat before the concert and bars and beverages will be served.
