Norby joins Lake Country Associates
Danielle Norby, MSW, LGSW has joined Lake Country Associates, Park Rapids, as a mental health clinician.
Norby is currently completing her supervision to obtain her independent, clinical license in social work. She received her Master of Social Work degree from St. Catherine's University/ University of St. Thomas. She has experience in high school and preschool day treatments, HeadStart behavioral health consultation, in-home family and individual therapy, outpatient therapy in a center for domestic violence and inpatient therapy at a psychiatric hospital.
Norby works with children ages zero to 18 and their parents/families. She also works with adults and provides family therapy services. Norby is trained in the Incredible Years curriculum which is a group for caregivers and babies zero to 5 months old. She is also certified to provide TF-CBT, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She facilitate SPARCS groups - Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress - in the Park Rapids area as well. She has many continuing education hours in Early Childhood and Infant Mental Health specializing in the work between a child and caregiver.
She specializes in working with children who have challenging behaviors often due to traumatic experiences, domestic violence and disorders such as autism, Asperger's, and pervasive developmental disorder.
