No charges in faux shooting at Menahga bank
On Jan. 21, 2013 the Menahga Police Department and Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to Tru Star Federal Credit Union in the City of Menahga. A female party had come in the building and claiming that she had just been shot at, in the parking lot. It was reported that a male party, possibly the shooter, was in a vehicle in the parking lot. Upon arrival of officers and deputies the male party was located in a vehicle and detained. After speaking with the female party it was determined that she was suffering from a medical condition and had not been shot at nor was there ever a shooting. The Credit Union was placed into lock down during the incident but went back to normal business after the investigation was complete. The Menahga Police Department and Wadena County Sheriff's Office were assisted by Minnesota State Patrol, DNR, Park Rapids Police Department, Menahga First Responders and Tri County Ambulance.
Authorities do not plan to charge her. They said she was under the influence of alcohol and medication at the time.
