New city administrator announced
Scott Larson of Cambridge emerged as the Park Rapids Council's unanimous choice for administrator Saturday.
Consultant Jim Brimeyer and mayor Nancy Carroll were charged with negotiating terms of a contract, which Larson has accepted.
According to Carroll, he is tentatively planning to start Feb. 4.
A 1975 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Larson was city administrator at Cambridge from 1976-96. In 1996, he started his own company Personal Dynamic Re-sources, working as an in-dependent agent and specialist in personnel and employment benefits, insurance services, financial planning and mediation.
He also has served as fire chief of the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department, on the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce and the Isanti County Planning Commission.
