 Nevis’ Class of 2013 moves their graduation tassels to signify they met all the criteria of the state to graduate. A packed house cheered, cried and celebrated the 40 graduates. Below senior Paige Daniels was overcome by emotion as she watched her classmates parade into the gymnasium. Daniels was all smiles when she was presented with her diploma.

The Nevis Class of 2013 has been awarded more than $360,000 in scholarships. This figure does not include the Honor Awards students may apply for from the Nevis Dollars for Scholars Foundation.

Katelyn Becker ­- Northwoods Bank Scholarship, $500.

Taylor Chase - St. Joseph’s Area Health Services Scholarship, $1,000; Nevis Firepersons Scholarship, $400, and Nevis Football Boosters Scholarship, $200.

Kate Dierkhising -Concordia College, Moorhead, Excellence Scholarship, ($13,000 / 4 years) $52,000; Minnesota Twins Community Fund, $2,000; Minnesota State High School League Coaches Association Past Presidents Scholarship, $1,000; Pam Lindow Scholarship, $1,000; St. Joseph’s Area Health Services Scholarship, $1,000.

Madisen Douvier - Nevis Firepersons Scholarship, $400.

Karly Drury - Bemidji State University, Student Success Scholarship, $1,000; Bemidji State University Scholarship, ($1,000 / 4 Years) $4,000, and St. Joseph’s Brian Koria Scholarship, $750.

Aaron Halik - Otto Hendrickson Post 212 Sons of American Legion Scholarship, $500 and Nevis Firepersons Scholarship, $400.

Riley Hanson - Concordia University, St. Paul, Volleyball Scholarship,($13,000 / 4 years) $52,000; Regents’ Scholarship, ($7,000 / 4 years) $28,000, and Pam Lindow Scholarship, $1,000.
