Nevis graduates receive diplomas, bid fond farewell

Forty-one students bid farewell to Nevis School Saturday evening, with $242,332 awarded in scholarships.

Students graduating with exemplary honors, a GPA of 3.75 and above on a 4.0 scale, include Michael Kempnich, Allison Kluver, Megan Stambaugh and Brian Walpole.

Students earning honors with distinction, a GPA of 3.6667 to 3.7499, were Mara Howes and Alicia Silbernagel.

Honors students, 3.3333 to 3.6666 were Emilee Edelman, Cassandra Edwards, Kjera Gustafson, and Erin Walters.

Scholarship recipients include:

Rachael Calderon - University of Minnesota, Morris, American Indian tuition waiver, $35,392; Gateway scholarship, $3,000; American Indian scholarship, $2,500 and Hemophilia Federation of America scholarship, $1,000.

Casey Charmoli - Belle Taine Glass, $500.

Emilee Edelman - Concordia College, Academic Excellence scholarship, $36,000; Cobber Award, $3,400; Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post 212 scholarship, $1,000; Gayle Wallace scholarship, $500; Margaret Kavanagh memorial scholarship, $500; Paulette Smith memorial scholarship, $300; Akeley Lions Club scholarship, $250 and PEO Chapter FJ scholarship, $200.

Cassie Edwards - Otto Hendrickson American Legion Post 212 scholarship, $500; Charles and Emma Hensel Kellner memorial scholarship, $500; Nevis Firepersons scholarship, $400; James and Arlene Hukki scholarship, $300, and Johnson Health Care scholarship, $250.

Kjera Gustafson - Itasca Community College Harriet Webster academic scholarship, $2,000; Nevis Firepersons scholarship, $400 and James and Arlene Hukki scholarship, $300.

Mara Howes - PEO Chapter FJ scholarship, $200.

Justin Torma - Northland Bison Ranch environmental scholarship, $250.
