FARGO - Fargo enjoyed a record high temperature on Monday, but apparently it was too warm for one man who eventually ended up in hot water with police.

The 19-year-old man was first reported as walking naked in the 2800 block of Third Street North at 7:48 p.m., Lt. Joel Vettel said.

When officers arrived, the man was gone but his pants, shirt, socks and underwear were lying on the street and boulevard, Vettel said.

At 7:52 p.m., a second caller reported seeing the nude man go into an apartment building in the 500 block of 30th Avenue North, Vettel said. Officers found the man there in his apartment unit.

The man told police he had been drinking and that he took his clothes off "because he was very warm," Vettel said.

Police are recommending the man be charged with indecent disorderly act and minor in possession of alcohol, Vettel said.

Fargo's record high temperature of 52 degrees Monday at Hector International Airport broke the old record of 45 degrees for the day set in 1959, according to the National Weather Service.
