Mueller, Bethel receive honors at MMC finale

     Park Rapids’ Bailey Mueller and Dustin Bethel earned all-conference honors at Monday’s Mid-Minnesota Conference Championship at The Legacy.

     Mueller finished third overall with a 79 while Bethel shared one of the final all-conference spots with an 88 on the par-72 course. There were 13 golfers who carded rounds of 88 or better who earned all-conference honors.

     Dakota Waverek earned medalist honors with a 70 in leading Staples-Motley to the title with a five-player score of 424 and 27.5 points. Pequot Lakes was second with a 441 and 16.5 points while United North Central carded a 499 and earned 10.5 points.

     Leading UNC as all-conference golfers were Gavin Mickelson with an 86 and Noah Hendrickson with an 88. Don Wurdock’s 101, Brian Hillukka’s 105 and Anthony Wurdock’s 119 rounded out the Warriors’ team score.

     Nevis’ Daniel Stacey carded a 97 while Gunnar Netteberg carded a 103 as individual qualifiers.

Team scores: Staples-Motley (424) 27.5 points, Pequot Lakes (441) 16.5 points, Crosby-Ironton (470) 13.5 points, United North Central (499) 10.5 points.
