According to Arlette Vanwyhe, over 700 riders enjoyed a day in Park Rapids on their way to Alexandria. This was their second stop, having covered about 28 miles between Walker, their first stop, and Park Rapids. The 250-mile long bike ride started in Bemidji on July 22. All participants were required to raise a minimum of $300 in addition to a $50 registration fee. Shown above, volunteers unloaded the cyclists' overnight bags from two fully-filled Budget moving trucks. After leaving Park Rapids, the cyclists will travel about 40 miles to Wadena, 55 miles to Fergus Falls, then finally 50 miles to Alexandria, stopping for the night in each city.
