Two Manitobans were treated and released from MeritCare in Thief River Falls after the motorcycle they were riding struck a deer Monday night in Marshall County, Minn., the state patrol said.

Clifford Matthies, 56, and Gloria Matthies, 54, of Lowe Farm, Man., were headed south just before 9 p.m. on Highway 59 just when their 1998 Harley Davidson struck the deer near Marshall County Road 2. Both were thrown from the cycle and both were wearing helmets, the patrol said. They were transported by Thief River Ambulance to MeritCare.

A patrol press release said the investigation is complete.
