Charges filed against family friend in kidnapping, murder of 5-year-old

Monicken to serve as MPR council secretary

Melodee Monicken, stock photography manager of Blue Lake Studios and a Park Rapids resident, has been elected to serve as secretary of the Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) Regional Development Advisory Council.

Monicken will represent the Park Rapids area and serve as a liaison between the community and MPR stations.

Regional Development Advisory Council members are volunteers who create positive community awareness of Minnesota Public Radio station activities, advocate the mission of the stations, advise on and implement strategy for securing revenue, offer programming feedback and advocate for MPR at the legislative level.
