Mn/DOT, MSP asks motorists to avoid Wadena area through the weekend
Minnesota Department of Transportation and Minnesota State Patrol officials are asking all non-resident motorists to avoid the Wadena area at all costs through Monday, June 21. Congested traffic on U.S. Highway 10 and local roads is severely interfering with recovery efforts.
U.S. Highway 29, sections of U.S. Highway 71 and several local streets remain closed in the Wadena area.
Mn/DOT and MSP asks motorists to be considerate of crews and residents who are working to clean up debris in the community.
Area residents should use extreme caution and beware of closed roads, debris on the roadway, damaged power lines and slow moving vehicles carrying debris. Traffic signals are not working due to power outages.
