Missing boys found after three-and-a-half-hour search in Arago Township
Two missing boys were found after a three-and-a half-hour search by authorities in Arago Township Tuesday.
The Hubbard County Sheriff's office received a call of the missing boys, ages 10 and 12, from a residence on Eagle Lake off CSAH 40 at 3:41 p.m.
Hubbard County deputies responded and learned the boys could not be located by family members.
After an initial search of the area by officers, the Hubbard County Mounted Posse, Hubbard County First Responders and the Nevis First Responders were called in to search an area of woods near where the kids had been playing.
Assisting in the search were the Akeley Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol's helicopter, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
At 7:15 p.m., the kids were located in the woods about a half-mile from where they were staying.
Sheriff Cory Aukes expressed thanks to all who assisted in the search. "The number of volunteers that arrived to help and their quick response time was greatly appreciated by the family and sheriff's office," he said.
