Minnesota man dies after being pushed in front of car
A man was killed Wednesday night in Little Canada, Minn., after another man pushed him in front of a car, a Ramsey County sheriff’s spokesman reported.
The office received a 911 call at 9:10 p.m. reporting two men fighting on Rice Street near County Road B2, Sgt. John Eastman said Thursday.
One man pushed the other, who was hit by a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead, Eastman said.
Eastman said the medical examiner would release the victim’s name.
A 41-year-old Little Canada man was booked into the Ramsey County Jail shortly after the incident on suspicion of homicide, according to jail records. He has not been charged.
The suspect's criminal record includes convictions for DWI and fleeing a police officer in 1992, DWI in 1997 and violation of a harassment restraining order in 2002.
The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting an accident reconstruction and witnesses were interviewed at the scene, Eastman said.
Prosecutors are reviewing the case for possible charges, said Dennis Gerhardstein, spokesman for the Ramsey County attorney’s office.
