Menahga receives state award for positive balances, fiscal policies
The Menahga School District is the recipient of the Minnesota Department of Education School Finance Award.
The award recognizes districts for timely submission of fiscal year 2010 Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards data and annual financial statements, as required by Minnesota statutes, as well as for having positive fund balances, demonstrating fiscal policies and procedures and personnel training.
This is the eighth time Menahga has received the award. This year awards went to 129 schools and K-12 school districts of a possible 555 total eligible educational institutions, or 23.24 percent of the total reporting units.
Superintendent Mary Klamm and the Menahga School Board congratulate and commend Elizabeth "Liz" Olson, Business Manager, for her contributions in securing this award.
Congratulations were also received from Minnesota Department of Education Finance Division Director, Thomas Melcher and Lisa DeRemee, Financial Management Supervisor.
