Menahga girls drop games to Henning, W-DC

Losses to Henning and Wadena-Deer Creek gave the Menahga girls basketball team a 2-3 record in the last five games and a 5-5 overall mark.

Henning tops Braves

Tarah Cleveland scored 18 points and Shelby Pihlaja added 16 points to lead the Braves in a 55-48 Park Region Conference loss at Henning Friday night.

Theisen leads W-DC past Braves

Hope Theisen scored 16 points and Emily Miron added 12 points in leading Wadena-Deer Creek to a 51-23 win over Menahga Thursday night at Wadena.

Pihlaja led the Braves with 13 points while Jenny Skoog grabbed 10 rebounds and Shannon Skoog had four assists.

Braves split tournament games

The Braves split games at the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton tournament on Dec. 27-28.

D-G-F defeated the Braves 65-48 in the tournament opener while Menahga rebounded for a 65-42 win over Hankinson in the third-place game.

Sierra Senske and Mandy Mercil tallied double-doubles in leading D-G-F past the Braves.

Senske had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Mercil had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Rebels.

Cleveland scored 25 points and had four assists while Jenny Skoog had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Braves. Pihlaja also had four assists.
