Menahga deputy clerk, secretary resign from administrative office
Two of Menahga's administrative staff have submitted letters of resignation.
Susie Larson, deputy clerk, and Joline Floyd, secretary, submitted letters stating their last day would be Oct. 15. Larson has worked for the city of Menahga since May of 2006 and Floyd since January of 2007.
The Menahga City Council accepted the resignations Monday morning at a special meeting.
"We'll be advertising to fill the positions as soon as possible," said city clerk/ treasurer/administrator Walter Salo, who has been on the job for just a few weeks.
Larson had been filling in as interim clerk since April when Teri Osterman resigned. She had worked for the city for eight years.
The letters said they were appreciative of their time working for the city.
Slight changes will be made in the job descriptions, Salo said. The council discussed looking into contracting temporary services until the positions are filled.
