MARY FRANCES 'FRAN' POTTER STENGER

Mary Frances "Fran" (Potter) Stenger, 85, of Park Rapids, MN, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington.

Mary Frances MacDonald was born May 15, 1928 the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Gillis) MacDonald in Somerville, Mass., where she grew up and attended school.

She was united in marriage to Charles G. Potter in Somerville, Mass. April 9, 1948. They moved to Park Rapids in 1948. She raised her family in Park Rapids.

Later, she attended East Grand Forks Technical Institute, for Operating Room Technician.

On April 22, 1989 she was united in marriage to Fred Stenger.

Fran enjoyed traveling and dancing. For many years she enjoyed working at St. Joseph's Hospital as an OR Technician. She was a long-time active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids.

She is survived by her children, Jane (Vince) Richey of Port Ludlow, Wash.; Barb Severson of Rosemont; Marjorie (Dave) Rehfeldt of Ontario, Ohio; Marty (Linda) Potter of Jenks, Okla. and Steve (Heather) Potter of Bloomington; grandchildren, Kevin (Stacie) Pike, Nicole (Rob) Ratajczyk, Greg (Andrea) Planellas, Andrew Severson, Morgan Severson, Shannon Reinhardt, Sara Potter, Jessica Potter (Keith), Allyson Rehfeldt, Madison Rehfeldt, Kailey Potter, Alyssa Potter, Ryan Potter, Daniel Potter and Alec Vosika; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Charles Potter and Fred Stenger; son, Charles "Chuck" Potter; brother, Fred MacDonald; and sisters, Teresa Battcock, Jane Huntly, Barbara Larsen and Marian Sherman.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, Fr. Thomas Friedl will be the celebrant.

Visitation: was held from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids, also one hour before the time of the service at the church.
