Margaret was born Dec. 5, 1934 in Todd Township of Hubbard County, to Roy and Alice (Dickinson) Stevens. Her family moved to a farm in Hubbard township when she was seven years of age. She graduated from Park Rapids High School with the Class of 1952.

She was united in marriage to Winston Lee Manlove May 2, 1954. This marriage was blessed with three children, Steven, LeAnne and Amy.

Margaret dedicated herself to making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was a wonderful cook and baker who will be long remembered for her delicious homemade suet pudding, bread and gravy, noodles and fried fish. She would often work late into the night sewing clothes for her growing family. Margaret would plant a large vegetable garden each spring which she would nurture into fruitful abundance to preserve for her growing family.

In addition to caring for her family, Margaret also worked for a time at Brackens Caf in Park Rapids. She served as a bookkeeping clerk for the Creamery. She also worked as a seamstress for the Munsingwear Company where she developed good sewing skills. She worked in the Hubbard County Courthouse, first in the Assessor's Office and then in the Auditor's Office for a total of ten years. Each year she would prepare the County Financial Statement and her work was very much appreciated by the State Auditor's Office.

Even though she enjoyed her career with the county, her family was more important, so she became a stay at home mom. Her main focus, in addition to caring for her family, was serving the Lord. She was a life-long active member of the Hubbard United Methodist Church. She taught a women's Bible study for over ten years. She loved to read the Bible to her children and help them memorize scripture. She enjoyed singing and began solo work in church at the tender age of 12 years. She loved singing in the church choir.

Each summer she enjoyed venturing into the woods to pick blueberries. When she was younger she enjoyed raising beautiful flowers into colorful splendor for all to see and enjoy. She was known throughout the neighborhood for knitting caps and mittens for all the area children. She also crocheted many beautiful doilies she gifted to friends and family. In her spare time she enjoyed hunting for bargains at garage sales. She loved working with her neighbors and was always thankful for the blessings God bestowed on her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Steven (Sandra) Manlove of Fargo, N.D., LeAnne (Mark) Manlove Lerner of Portland, Ore. and Amy (Dan) Rogers of Marshfield, Wis.; seven precious grandchildren, Eric, Vanessa, Zac, Mary, Sam, Madelyn and Levi; and one brother, Robert (Liz) Stevens of Park Rapids.
