Mareen Fay Johnson, 71, of Duluth, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

She was born July 1, 1942 in Park Rapids to Lennie and Neva (McCollum) Pike. Following high school she moved to the Duluth area and has been a resident ever since.

Mareen was employed at several places over the years most notably Jon's Photography. She was also a waitress and manager at Mr. Steak for many years, L.A. Restaurant and was currently the housekeeper at Lakeview Covenant Church, where she was an active member.

Some of her hobbies included bowling and bird watching. She was an avid gardener and loved walking her dog "Max" everyday keeping an eye on the neighborhood.

Survivors include her children, Leigh Thomas of Esko, Kevin (Heather) Thomas of Duluth and Melissa (Mark) Pleschourt of Dundas; stepdaughter, Danielle Hervon of Texas; grandchildren, Gracie, Carlissa, Breanna, Jenna, Taylor, Kylie, Courtney, Kara, Jessica and Joshua; brother, Wayne (Marty) of Park Rapids; sisters, Darlene (Jim) Heinzen of Duluth, Diane (Charles) Tengquist of Duluth and Trude (Dale) Westby of Park Rapids; mother-in-law, Lulu Johnson; sister-in-law, Laura (Jerry) Jones; brother-in-law, Lyle (Joanie) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry; sister, Delores Pike; and stepson, Russ Johnson.

Services: were held Friday, Nov. 1 in Duluth.
