Man severely injured in Lake Belle Taine boat incident
On June 26, 2013 at 1:44 p.m., the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a boating accident on Lake Belle Taine near the town of Nevis. Deputies and medical personnel arrived on scene to find 30 year old, David Cass of Minneapolis, unconscious and with a severely lacerated arm. First Responders from the Nevis Fire Department immediately began CPR. Cass was flown to a Fargo hospital for life threatening injuries.
The investigation showed that Cass was the driver of a pontoon and had two passengers on board. Cass moved to the front of the moving pontoon, where he fell into the lake and was then struck by the propeller.
This incident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
