Man beaten unconscious twice in his Fargo apartment
FARGO - A 55-year-old man told Fargo police he was beaten unconscious twice by the same suspect or suspects in his Fargo apartment early today.
Sgt. Mark Lykken said the victim told police he was asleep in his apartment by himself when he awoke to being beaten. He lost consciousness for an unknown period of time.
The suspect or suspects - it was unknown if it was one or two - left and came back a short time later, demanding money and beating the victim unconscious again, Lykken said.
David Alan Daugherty, 34, of Fargo, was located at the scene and arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, Lykken said, adding that Daugherty and the victim are acquaintances.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a Fargo hospital, where he was treated and released. He reported missing money and leather jackets, Lykken said.
The assault was reported at 2:59 a.m. in the 1400 block of Third Avenue North.
