Kayla Dahn, of Park Rapids, said she had a great first semester at M State and is signing up for spring semester classes in Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes.

"M State is a really good college," she said. "It's not as big as some other schools and the teachers are very good."

She took four courses to reach her general course requirements: religion and humanities, sociology, academic literature and general psychology. The psychology class was offered in Park Rapids while the other three were in Detroit Lakes.

"I really enjoyed it," Dahn said. "The teachers were really nice and I learned so much."

Her psychology class was offered at Frank White Education Center and had about 15 students in it.

She liked the convenience of having a course offered locally.

"It only took five minutes to get there," Dahn said.

By taking a course locally she saved money on gas and saved time.

She is signed up to take the Power and Communication in Human Relations in Park Rapids for the spring semester.

Dahn said she would recommend M State to others.

"The teachers really care and want you to succeed," she said.

Dahn would like to be an X-ray technician after she has completed school and is confident this is her best option for school.

A registration blitz is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. Jan. 3-4 at the Frank White Education Center in Park Rapids. Students can apply, enroll and get started with an academic advisor in one stop.
