Lucille (Lucy) Carlson, 81, of Nevis, died on Friday, July 4, 2014 at CHI St. Joseph's Health in Park Rapids.
Lucille Lorraine Weber was born June 29, 1933 to George and Lela (Robinson) Weber in Dodge City, Kan. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1951 in Davenport, Iowa. She attended Augustana College.
On June 6, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donald Carlson at Trinity Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa.
She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother exhibiting grace in all aspects of her life.
She enjoyed being with her family and reading. She was a member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald O. Carlson of Nevis; sister, Agnes French of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Carl Weber of Davenport, Iowa; daughter, Valerie (Brian) Slettum of Houston, Texas; son, Daniel Mark (Nancy) Carlson of East Moline, Ill.; son, Derek (Samantha) Carlson of Chandler, Ariz.; granddaughter, Kristin Carlson (husband, Brian Berg) of Santa Fe, N.M.; granddaughter, Sarah Carlson (husband, Levi Lange) and great-grandson, Miles of Dubuque, Iowa; grandson, Steven Carlson of East Moline, Ill.; granddaughter, Karin Carlson of East Moline, Ill.; grandsons, Andrew (Tara) Carlson of Jersey City, N.J. and Jeffrey (Sonia) Carlson of Seattle, Wash.; niece, Yvonne (Weber) Abbott of Davenport, Iowa and nephew, Ricky Weber of Davenport, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 11 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis. Fr. Tony Fernando is officiating.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Interment: Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Cemetery in Nevis.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis.
