The local MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) is looking for new members.

Park Rapids MOPS meets at Faith Baptist Church, 1505 South Park (south Highway 71). Meetings are from 9-11 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month during the school year. The next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 18. The first meeting is free with $4.75 per meeting thereafter. MOPS members say no one is turned away, though.

This year's theme is "Plunge into relationships - Love as if your life depended on it." Any expectant mom or mother of children from birth through kindergarten is welcome.

Mops is run by the mothers themselves, promoting development of leadership skills. Children are cared for by trusted volunteers at the church.

Each meeting includes a brunch, speaker on a topic related to womanhood, marriage and relationships or parenting. Then, with her discussion group, each mom gets a chance to share her views on the day's topic and what's going on in her life.

For more information go to mops.org or call Gina Aho at 218-841-2653 or Ruby Anderson at 218-573-3502.
