Linda Kinder, 65, of Lake Park died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.
Linda was born to Jack and Agnes (Lehmar) Grosvenor on Dec. 11, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School.
On April 17, 1961, Linda married Larry Kinder at Neola, Iowa. The couple made their home in Martensdale, Iowa. She attended beauty school in Des Moines and then operated as a licensed beautician in her own shop for 10 years. She was also employed by R.G. Dickinson as a legal secretary. In 1981, the couple moved to Minnesota, where they together owned and operated the Angler's Beach Resort on Cass Lake for 10 years. Linda worked in medical insurance up until her retirement in November.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Linda enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, cooking, gardening, bird-watching and her five cats. She especially enjoyed perch and walleye fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Kinder of Lake Park; a son, Randy (Denise) Kinder of Fergus Falls; two grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Jim) Martin of Council Bluffs; and a brother, Jack (Lynn) Grosvenor of Council Bluffs. Preceding Linda in death were her parents and an infant brother.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1 at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with the Rev. Dale Pepelnjak officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls.
