Letters: Youth, business owners enjoyed party
On behalf of the Park Rapids Downtown Business Association, we would like to thank all who helped in the effort to hold the youth party on Main Street last Friday evening. While we hoped that the attendance would have been greater, those who did participate - youth and business owners alike - enjoyed a fun evening of food and music. It is our goal that events such as this will become commonplace as we initiate plans to grow and enhance our downtown.
Thank you to the City Council for granting permission to use Pioneer Park; the Park Rapids Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce for insuring the event; Sara Bowles and the Hubbard County Youth Drug and Alcohol Task Force for coordinating the planning; Ben Ranson and Savanna Tate for organizing the music; Main Street Meats for donating and cooking the hot dogs; J & B Foods, Coborn's Foods and The Good Life Café for food and refreshments; and the many business owners who donated door prizes and spent a chilly Friday evening hanging out on Main Street.
Special thanks to a wonderful gentleman who appeared from nowhere as we were preparing to leave the park. Pulling a sizeable donation from his pocket, he merely said, "It's all about the kids..." Thank you, Andy Anderson, for your generosity and for your ongoing caring and support of our youth and our community.
