Letters: A welcome home to the politicians
I'd like to welcome home the Minnesota congressional delegation for their August recess with this question. If your proposed healthcare bill is the "do all, be all, end all" healthcare bill of all time, then why aren't you, our illustrious president and the other members of congress going to participate? In fact, Henry Waxman has specifically said you people will not be covered by this healthcare debacle. I want to know why!
I lied; I have a couple more questions. The majority of people in this country don't want anything to do with your healthcare makeover and the trillions it will cost. So why aren't you paying attention to we the people? Unlike the TARP bill, which most of you in Congress didn't read, (things like dereliction of duty and breach of fiduciary responsibility come to mind). I'd like to know who and how many members of Congress, including Obama, have actually read and understand the 1,000 plus pages in the healthcare bill, and the detrimental effect it will have on our economy. Uh, let me rephrase. Unlike several of you, I'm not under investigation for corruption, criminal activity, or tax evasion. I don't employ illegal aliens, I'm not a sex pervert, and I've never committed adultery. I am certainly not a foul-mouthed has been comic, and I will willingly release my birth certificate. Nope, not me. I'm just one of the millions of honest, hardworking, taxpaying citizens of the United States, and I demand answers to my questions! You people work for us, not your political party, not the president, illegal aliens or lobbyists but us, the citizens of United States. If it were up to me, I would replace all of you with the average, honest, taxpaying citizen of this country, with just an ounce of common sense. Your arrogance, your elitist attitude, and your stupidity are disgusting.
Have a nice recess!
