Letters: Thank you to all for help after accident
On July 15, we were involved in an accident on the shore of Big Sand Lake (previously reported in the Park Rapids Enterprise) while showing property to a Mr. Mike Behr. Luckily, at the site of the accident, we were able to call 911 from our cell phone. Within a few minutes the first Sheriff's Deputy arrived on the scene. First Responders, Fire Department personnel, Highway Patrol and ambulances, followed him very shortly. While the circumstances were very difficult, every man and woman involved in the incident was as fast, kind and professional as anyone could hope for. From there we were taken by ambulance to the St. Joseph's Area Health Services Emergency Room where the same high standard of care and compassion continued. Because of the nature of his injuries Mr. Behr was taken directly to Merit Care Hospital in Bemidji and was subsequently airlifted to Hennepin County Hospital were he is still recovering from his injuries.
We feel very fortunate to be living in a community supported by such fine emergency personnel. We are especially grateful for the help and care of Ellis and Cynthia Jones, neighbors who were quickly on the scene and stayed with us until late into the evening in the emergency room. The care and concern shown to us by friends and neighbors who were ready and willing to step in when needed has been humbling.
A huge thank you goes out to all.
Rob and Mary Beth Anderson, Park Rapids
