Letters: Obama sees himself as director of the world
President Obama is a very intellectual and charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. Most frightening is his health care program. If you make it free and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will skyrocket. The only way to control costs is with massive rationing of services with politicians and not physicians making life and death decisions. Heaven forbid! President Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States, but as director of the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate and coordinate various countries and their agendas. His apology tour in Europe was an example of how he sees America. This is the first President of the United States that finds fault with our allies and appeases our enemies! We need to return to a smaller government, with lower taxes, personal responsibility, strong national defense and states rights. The trillions of Chinese dollars being spent are irresponsible and dangerous. Historically no country has ever spent itself into prosperity. Eventually and unfortunately you and I will see that the massive bailouts and the stimulus spending didn't work. When President Obama's Secretary of the Treasury assured the Chinese during a recent visit to China that their dollars would be well spent, they laughed at him. The people of the United States now find themselves in uncharted waters. Hopefully this perilous course will be reversed in 2012 before the Pied Piper leads us all over the cliff. And I repeat, no country has ever spent itself into prosperity.
