Letters: Kinship Clubhouse raffle a success
Thanks to all who bought raffle tickets for the Kinship Clubhouse built and donated by the Northwoods Bank employees! You helped raise $6,340 to support our local Kinship program so that more volunteer mentors and reading buddies will be matched with children.
We want to thank the many area businesses that joined in the effort and hosted the clubhouse at their place of business and/or sold raffle tickets: J&B Foods, Beagle Books, Briar Patch Corner, Northern Convenience, Park Ace Hardware, Park Rapids BP, Coborn's, Professor Nil's Photography in Dorset, T&M Express in Akeley, Nevis and Park Rapids, and of course Northwoods Bank, Express Bank and in Nevis.
The lucky winner of the clubhouse was Ruthie Swenson of Park Rapids. Kinship kids, present and future, are the real winners. And the area communities are the long-term winners. It is great to be part of a community that cares for its kids!
