Letter: Thanks for Back to School Bash help

Thank you to all who helped and contributed to our second annual Back to School Bash!

The Hubbard County Youth Drug and Alcohol Taskforce, Bethany Lutheran, Calvary Lutheran, Faith Baptist, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Johns Lutheran, and Park Rapids Assembly of God want to thank all the youth and adults that attended our 2nd annual Back To School Bash.

This year's event was attended by well over 150 youth. The youth enjoyed great music by Luke Kirchner, food donated by Zorbaz and the place to have it graciously provided by J&B Foods. Also a great big thanks to Rapids Spirits for donating the flat screen TV as a door prize in support of our youth not drinking until they turn 21. We want to thank the area youth for making the night a great experience and showing how stellar they are! Thanks to St. Joseph's Area Health Services, the Park Theater for opening the theater to us and Bethany Lutheran for purchasing the film and license for "To Save A Life," a powerful teen film about looking outside yourself and seeing the needs of others. It is a film that shows you never know if, by recognizing and trying to meet those needs, you might save a life.

The film license will be available to us for a year, so watch for other screenings throughout the Hubbard County area. Watch our Rock Sober and task force Facebook page for future showings. Please contact Linda Nicklason if you are interested in hosting a showing at 218-652-2030. See You at the Pole is coming up on Sept. 22. Watch for more information.

We hope you all enjoyed the event! Know that each and every one of you present is important to us. Have a great school year and remember you have the power "To Save A Life."
