Letter: Steve Green has my vote

Steve Green has my vote for the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 2B. Steve Green is a businessman who supports smaller government, less regulation, less taxes, and more job growth.

His opponent Brita Sailer, who was previously in the Legislature from 2004 to 2010, was part of the tax-and-spend problem at the Minnesota State Capitol when she served. The Minnesota Taxpayer's League, a nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots taxpayer advocacy organization, gave Brita Sailer a lifetime score of 18 in 2010. Look up Project Vote Smart, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization that distributes information on candidates, and see Brita Sailer's record in regard to budget, spending and taxes. She has a dismal voting record compared to other legislators as shown by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, which is also another nonpartisan organization.

Brita Sailer voted against requiring schools to spend 70 percent of their money directly on classroom needs. Brita Sailer supported the 25 x 25 renewal energy standard legislation, which mandates 25 percent of all Minnesota electricity come from renewable sources by the year 2025. That includes wind power, which is only available 35 percent of the time we need it, and solar power, which is available only when the sun is shining. This is helping to drastically drive up electric rates. Steve Green will work to repeal such costly legislation.

If you think you can spend your money better than the government can, please vote for Steve Green.
