Letter: Seatbelt use important all year
The Saturday, May 25 edition of the Park Rapids Enterprise featured several articles on the importance of seat belt use. These are timely articles as our Towards Zero Deaths Safe Roads Coalition continues to work closely in our county to ensure that every person uses their seatbelt every time they are in a vehicle.
From my perspective, the “Click It or Ticket” campaign should be a familiar message to all drivers and passengers. There is nothing easier than to wear my seat belt and request that everyone in my vehicle do the same.
I appreciate that we keep this simple message in the news. Preliminary crash reports indicate at least four people were killed in traffic crashes during the Memorial Day weekend, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) Office of Traffic Safety.
Here’s to keeping our Hubbard County drivers and passengers safe in their vehicles, Memorial Day and every day!
