Letter: Radiothon to End Child Abuse is Dec. 2, 3
I would like to remind people of the annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse, which is coming up on Dec. 2 and 3. The money that is raised by the Radiothon comes back to benefit the Hubbard County Child Abuse Prevention Council.
The Council uses the money to continue supporting MAHUBE Crisis Care Nursery, which provides a safe place for children during a time of crisis. Money is also used for the SAFE Parks Program operated in Park Rapids, Nevis and Akeley. The objective of SAFE Parks is to provide a Safe and Fun Environment for all the children who participate.
In addition, this money has been used for Kinship, a mentoring program for children in our area. We are excited to announce that we have started a new program this year, Circle of Parents, which is a parent support group.
With your pledge, the Hubbard County Child Abuse Prevention Council can continue to support programs that directly affect the lives of our children. Please consider pledging to either the Bemidji or Wadena radio stations. The phone number to pledge in Bemidji is 218-444-1500 and the Wadena phone number is 1-877-509-7233.
Thanks to all who support this year's Radiothon to End Child Abuse.
