In your Saturday edition, you reported that the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and Park Rapids Police Department will increase drunk driving enforcement during a statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over DWI enforcement effort in December.
This is timely, as our Toward Zero Deaths Safe Roads Coalition is working closely in our county to ensure everyone makes safe driving decisions to avoid driving impaired.
As St. Joseph's Community Health Manager, my perspective is that nothing is more important than keeping our family and friends safe during the holiday season. Drinking and driving has serious and complicated consequences. One thing that could really make a difference is that we all put a designated driver on our holiday wish list.
Let's keep ourselves and our Hubbard County roads safe during the holidays.
